First Team Match Reports 2010-11 Season
First Team Match Reports 2010-11 Season
Saturday 30th April 2011 - St Albans Res 0 New Bradwell St Peter 5
A 5 star performance from the Peter's to finish off the season. After good work from Danny Nicholls and Barry Bellhouse peter's took the lead in the 5th when a St Albans headed past his own keeper. Shortly after it was 2-0 when Danny Nicholls scored and then Barry Bellhouse made in 3-0 before the break. At the start of the 2nd half with people still in the bar it was 4-0 when Shaun Carr scored the goal of the game, Manager Flinn then made 3 changes that seemed to disrupt the Peter's momentum but they soon settled down and should have scored more goals until Danny Nicholls finished off the scoring. A Good way to end the season.
Saturday 23rd April 2011 - New Bradwell St Peter 0 Welwyn Garden City 2
A below par performance against a team we really should be beating, in reality Bradwell never really got going and never really tested the visiting keeper.
Saturday 16th April 2011 - New Bradwell St Peter 0 AFC Dunstable 3
Peter's went 1-0 to a dubious penalty then were denied one of their own when Stephane was bought down in the area. Peter's started to chase the game in the last 10 minutes and conceded two break away goals to lave the visitors with a flattering scoreline
Wednesday 13th April 2011 - Wodson Park 1 New Bradwell St Peter 1
A long trek for a midweek game and a point was all we had to show. Wodson took the lead in the first half before Dom Marsala equalised in the 82nd minute, As Peter's looked for the winning goal one of the assistant referee's got bored and thought he would stamp his mark on the game when he intervened in a dust up between the Wodson and St Peter's players, The linesman advised the referee he saw James Fletcher throw a punch but did not see the player kick Fletch to prompt his actions nor the Wodson player who ran twenty yards to punch Fletch even though this happened a yard in front of the linesman. As this died down the linesman flagged again before play restarted and called the refereee over who then promptly dismissed Barry Bellhouse. This just summed the night up after the same linesman had given a penalty early in the 2nd half when Fletch bought down the Wodson striker 5 yards outside the box but as the Wodson fans said justice was done when the spot kick was missed. So yet again a very competitive game with neither team treating it as an end of season affair but as we retired to the bar both sets of fans were concerned how yet again we were all sitting around talking about the officials rather than the merits of our relevants teams performances. Tonight was all about history repeating itself with us having problems earlier in the season against Hoddesdon and what was the common denominator.............. I can not actually say what I really think due to the gag that is put on clubs but for everyone to rush around from work and travel all the way to Wodson to have the night ruined is just not football. A draw was a fair result but the rest of the stuff just leaves a sour taste in your mouth and the easist way to put it into words is that at my work if one of my staff's performance mirrored that of certain people tonight they would be sacked end of. Says it all really.
Saturday 9th April 2011 - Crawley Green 2 New Bradwell St Peter 0
Courtesy of the Crawley Green website
Two late goals from substitute Andy Randell secured all 3 points for Crawley to keep them in the race for promotion behind runaway leaders Berkhamsted.
Bradwell had the better chances in a scrappy opening with Danny Nicholls and Adam Castagnetti both going close in the first 10 minutes.
Crawley replied after 15 minutes but Robbie O'Dell's header from a Gareth Harnaman corner went just wide and a minute later Harnaman shot wide from close range.
Shortly after Stuart Strange linked up well with Rian MacDonald but Strange's effort missed the target. Tom Peveral was then set up by Strange but again the shot went wide.
Danny Nicholls had a good chance to put Bradwell ahead after 30 minutes but his shot was well blocked and it finished all square at the break.
Crawley dominated the second half and Tom Peveral nearly opened the scoring after 49 minutes. He was put clean through but his shot was well saved by James Howarth in the Bradwell goal. Crawley continued to push forward without really creating a clear opening.
The introduction of substitute Andy Randell changed the game. After 74 minutes Randell had a header saved by Howarth and minutes later he was denied by a last ditch tackle from Jack Leadbetter. With time running out Randell opened the scoring 12 minutes later. Terry Bennion launched a long throw into the box and Randell was on hand to head the ball past Howarth.
Bradwell replied strongly and two minutes later Crawley keeper Joe Cox made an outstanding save to deny Stephane Kemoagna.
In the 90th minute Randell made the game safe for Crawley. Kyal McNulty knocked a good cross into the box and Howarth spilled the ball under pressure from Stuart Strange and Randell was on hand to knock the ball into the open net.
Tuesday 5th April 2011 - Cranfield United 1 New Bradwell St Peter 5
Cranfield hosted New Bradwell St. Peter and a second half hat trick by Stephane Kemoagna sealed all three points for the Peters who ran out 5 -1 winners on the night. Peters had all the early pressure, which paid off at the end of the half with two goals in 3 minutes. Firstly Dom Marsala headed in a cross at the far post on 42 minutes and then Adam Castagnetti headed in a right wing cross on 45 minutes. The second half started better for the home team and Dan Booden scored on 55 minutes chipping the ball over the stranded keeper and into the empty net. It was all Cranfield now and shots either went wide or were blocked. But they went to sleep at a Peter's free kick and substitute Stephane Kemoagna converted a cross from close range on 63 minutes. Two more late Kemoagna goals in quick succession sealed the home team's fate. He made a tremendous leap to head in a Castagnetti cross on 81 minutes and completed his hat trick on 83 minutes when he waltzed through the home defence to score. The game ended shortly afterwards and the score line was a little harsh on a Cranfield side who battled throughout.
Saturday 02nd April 2011 - New Bradwell St Peter 0 Berkhamsted 0
Bradwell entertained league leaders Berkhamsted who needed 7 points to claim the league title, New Bradwell put in a brilliant all round performance to keep Berkhamsted FC to their first 0.0 draw since the were formed two seasons ago and became only 2nd team to keep a clean sheet against them this season. Although there was no goals at the end of 90 minutes there were plenty of chances with the better ones falling to Bradwell. Danny Nicholls and Stephane Kemoagna went close to scoring in the first half where defences generally were on top.
At the start of the second half Stephane Kemoagna just failed to control the ball when well placed. James Howarth in goal commanded his area with confidence and Bradwell defended well some against some slick Berkhamsted play. In the last quarter of an hour Bradwell edged it and had two efforts cleared. After 83 minutes Dom Marsala hit the bar and in stoppage time Ben Hill's free kick rattled the cross bar. So only a point but it showed we can compete with the top teams in this division.
Saturday 26th March 2011 - New Bradwell St Peter 2 Harpenden Town 1
Two lively set of forwards proved to make an exciting open game. The visitors had an early chance but Bradwell took the lead in the 6th minute when James Howarth clearance was headed by Danny Nicholls towards goal. The ball rebounded off a defender for Luke Williamson to head back into goal from 10 yards. 1-0. Harpenden pressed forward and equalised with an opportunist goal by James Hill in the 14th minute when he too latched onto a long clearance from defence 1-1. Bradwell were passing the ball round with confidence with Michael Ward knocking good passes forward to set up his team-mates and Bradwell won a couple of corners from panicky clearences. Harpenden had a chance and Danny Nicholls's shot was cleared before Bradwell scored again. The second and what proved to be the winning goal came when Ben Hill out on the left wing sideline, some 35 yards out struck a hard shot come centre which flew into the far top corner with the goalie struggling to save. 2-1.
Bradwell playing with confidence had more of the second half play but defended ruggedly when needed with Patel playing well at right back. Adam Catagnetti had an early chance just after the interval shooting wide from good build up play and Gary Ridgway had a left wing cross cleared. Harpenden forced two corners which James Howarth dealt with. Bradwell got on top in the last quarter and from a free kick in the 74th minute, Ben Hill's shot hit the crossbar and the ball bounced down on the line and was cleared. A James Howarth's clearance hit a fellow defender on the edge of the area and from 30 yards a Harpenden player hastily shot the loose ball wide. Both sides had penalty claims but just before the end Joe Donaldson made a brilliant tackle to save what looked like a certain equaliser. Indeed Joe has improved throughout the season and with James Fletcher at the back played well as a partnership.
Saturday 19th March 2011 - New Bradwell St Peter 2 Amersham Town 2
As we enter the final 6 weeks of the season the visitors were Amersham Town. Bradwell had the best of early chances with Jack Leadbetter just failing to score in the 12th minute and finally Michael Ward opened the scoring for the hosts in the 15th minute with a looping shot that bounced up over the keeper and into the net from 25 yards. More chances came before a similar bouncing ball in the Bradwell area in the 27th minute went in off Lois Colley who did not know at first a goal had been scored for the equaliser. Danny Nicholls shot over in the 37th minute for Bradwell but Amersham defended well as the half came to an end.
In the second half Bradwell played in patches and had chances to score when Chris Gunn had a shot saved before Danny Nicholls scored from Stephan Keomagna's centre in the 71st minute. Amersham came more into the game and a great strike by Lois Naroyanin in the 76th minute evened up the scores. No more goals with Bradwell attacking in the last minutes without success.
Team - Howarth, Carr, Hill, Leadbetter, Clinch. Donaldson, Castagnetti, Ward, Bellhouse, Nicholls, Ridgway

Not used - Patel, Ferguson
Tuesday 15th March 2011 - London Colney 1 New Bradwell St Peter 1
A very good point away to London Colney a place where we have struggled to get anything over the years. The performance was based on hard work rather than attractive football with every player giving 110% effort. The Peter's goal was scored by Skipper Micky ward from the spot a welcome relief after tow defeats in the last two and 3 missed penalties
Saturday 12th March 2011 - London Lions 4 New Bradwell St Peter 1
New Bradwell fell to their 2nd defeat in a week away at London Lions, Bradwell took the lead in the 35th Minute through Ben Hill but succumbed to be 3.1 down at half time and down to 10 men after two soft penalties and Mihir Patel dismissed at Half time trying to ask the referee to confirm a decision. We will wait for the referees report then submit our views to the County to get matters corrected. Unfortunately we were then up against it and despite the remaining 10 men trying their best in the 2nd half they finally went down 4-1. They make say you make your own luck but on another day with different game neccessities the last two games could have so easily been another two wins but we cannot afford to dwell on it and move on to our next game on Tuesday at London Colney
Tuesday 8th March 2011 - Hoddesdon Town 2 New Bradwell St Peter 1
This was a very hard fought game that Bradwell should have won but after missing two penalties we fell to our first defeat since Mid November. Peter's took the lead in the 8th minute through Stephane Kemoagna but Hoddesdon hit back to equalise in the 30th minute. Shortly afterwards Stephane was bought down in the penalty area for a penalty but no further action was taken on teh offending player, Danny Nicholls stepped up to take the penalty which was brilliantly save by the Hoddesdon keep who also saved the follow up. This is how the score stayed until half time. The 2nd half started with both teams pushing to get their noses in front. Soon after the restart Bradwell had another penalty when a Bradwell shot was bound for the goal, with the keeper out of position the ball was cleared by a Hoddesdon player with his arm. A Red card offence to most other referees but tonights official decided a Yellow card sufficed, This was committed by the same Hoddesdon player that conceded the first penalty with Steph bearing down on goal so the Hoddesdon Player was very fortunate to stay on the pitch. Again Danny Nicholls stepped up to take the penalty to atone for his earlier attempt but again the Home keeper held firm and saved Danny shot. With the game end to end Hoddesdon finally made the breakthrough with a long ball up field was controlled by the Hoddesdon winger who lobbed the ball over and advancing James Howarth. Hoddesdon celebrated at the final whistle like they had won the league but i guess it was expected considering the 5-1 humiliation they received in the return fixture in October. Football is always about opinions and the Hoddesdon match report stated our two penalties were not warranted and theirs was a stonewall penalty, However I was nearer than anyone watching as I was stood behind the goal on both occasions and the Hoddesdon player certainly had someone looking after him that night. But after a run of 10 wins in 10 games it is was a case of dust oursleves down and move to the next game.
Saturday 5th March 2011 - New Bradwell St Peter 2 Stony Stratford 0
The three week lay off due to wet weather certainly affected Bradwell who had eighteen shots on goal to Stonys' three. Although possession wise new Bradwell dominated for long spells their finishing was much to be desired. Opportunities came and went regularly but mention too for Stony custosian Tom Woodworths for many fine saves especially in one to one situations. A goal in each half was poor reward for Bradwells' efforts on goal. On another day both Danny Nicholls and Stephane Kemoagna might have scored three each. James Fletcher headed a corner just wide in the 11th minute and other chances came and went. However, with dour defending and poor finishing Bradwell finally opened the scoring in the 43rd minute when Danny Nicholls headed home Chris Gunn's free kick. Half time 1-0
Much the same in the second half and of only three chances Stony had, they wasted one in the 57th minute when well placed. Attack after attack fell short for Bradwell until Adam Castagnetti came on in the 75th minute as substitute and it was from Adam's cross that Stephane Kemeogna sewed up the points when he hooked home from ten yards in the 81st minute. 2-0.

Tuesday 15th February 2011 - New Bradwell St Peter 7 Bedford F.C 3
On a sticky pitch both sides tried to pass the ball around to good effect. Stephane Keomagna was brought down in the area by the Bedford goalie after 7 minutes and Danny Nicholls fired home the spot kick. 1-0. Dom Marsala scored a second in the 28th minute beating the keeper at the near post with a fierce shot 2-0 , a good move by Bedford saw Steve Gibbons reduce the defecit in the 31st minute. 2-1. Bradwell forced three corners and following shots cleared off the line Joe Donaldson fianlly put the ball in the net to make it 3-1 in the 43rd minute. Straight from the kick off Bradwell won the ball and Stephane Keomagna netted from Danny Nicholl's pass. 4-1 Again from the kick off Bedford gave the ball away and Danny Nicholls just lobbed over the bar.
Bedford attacked straight from the second half kick off and following a free kick Ash Kersey got behind the Bradwell defence to head home 4-2. From the kick off Bradwell made it 5-2 when Danny Nicholls hit home a rebound. Bedford too had chances and James Howarth made a good save in the 59th minute. Bedford broke through and missed a good chance but Chris Gunn let fly from 35 yards to score a screamer in the 65th minute, 6-2.Mike Ward, Stephane Keomagna and Dom Marsala all had good chances to score and Bedford shot wide from a good opening. However soon after Phil Fisher scored for Bedford in the 76th minute 6-3. Dom Marsala lobbed just wide and Bedford hit the post with minutes remaining. In the 89th minute substitute Barry Bellhouse thumped in the 7th goal for a deserved 7-3 win.
Team. Howarth, Patel, Ridgway, Leadbetter, Donaldson, Clinch, Marsala, Ward (capt), Keomagna, Nicholls & Gunn. Substitutes all used were Bellhouse, Fletcher & Carr.

Saturday 05th February 2011 - New Bradwell St Peter 4 London Lions 0
After last week's 8-0 win at Stony Stratford Bradwell went into the game full of confidence. With two enforced changes to the starting line up Shaun Carr came in to replace Mihir "Giggsy " Patel who was locked in his house !!!!!!! And Barry Bellhouse replacing last week's four goal hero Danny Nicholls who was ill. Stephane Keomagna scored within 22 seconds of the start finishing well from Barry Bellhouse's pass. Garry Ridgway running on to Stephane keomagna's pass was fouled in the penalty area and Stephane Keomagna fired home the resultant penalty kick in the 24th minute. Bradwell were playing and passing well and a shot bound for the net from Barry Bellhouse was poached by Matt Clinch after 29 minutes. All this was kicking against a strong wind in the first half. Lions overplayed the ball in the gusty conditions and halftime came at 3-0.
Nine minutes into the second half Stephane Keomagna shot home a rebound for his hat-trick and 21st goal of the season. Dom Marsala beat the same player three times on a mazy run and just shot across goal. Shaun Carr slotted in well at right back as did Garry Ridgway at left back. In fact the whole team played as a unit. James Howarth in goal had an easy second half as his defence in front of him were at their best. Chris Gunn came on as a substitute as did James Atherton who had a shot saved for a ''goal kick''

Saturday 29th January 2011 - Stony Stratford 0 New Bradwell St Peter 8
The Peter's travelled the short distance to Ostlers Lane to face a stony side at the wrong end of the table, But as recent local derbies show league form goes out of the Window. On a very heavy pitch pretty football was going to be hard and looked like it could even things up. However after the first two minutes the result was never in doubt and was a case of how many Bradwell would score, With 1 minute 26 seconds on the clock Stephane seized on a goalkeeping mistake from a back pass to put Bradwell 1.0 up. Bradwell continued to dominate proceedings and it was surprise it took us until the 31st minute so scored the 2nd with Stephane crossing for Danny Nicholls to finish easy from inside the 6 yard box. Just before half time the game was over when Danny Nicholls finished from another Stephane pass. So half time and Peter's were 3-0 to the good. The second half was one way traffic with further goals from Stephane, Two for Danny Nicholls and two from Dom Marsala to make the final score 8-0. I cannot remember a more one sided local derby and Stony could just not handle the movement of the Bradwell attackers amd to be fair the score could have been even more.

Saturday 22nd January 2011 - New Bradwell St Peter 3 Ampthill Town 1
In the return match of this local 'derby', Ampthill had won the first. Both teams went for it from the off, on a sticky pitch with one end dryer than the other both side acclimatised well. A good piece of interpassing between Ben Hill and Danny Nicholls set up Dom Masala to open the scoring for Bradwell in the 8th minute. 1-0. Ampthill attacked well with Shaun Cooksley prominent with his quick footwork. Fortune shone on Ampthill in the 13th minute when they equalised. Cooksley's shot seemed covered by James Howarth in goal and the ball went into the net via Ben Hill for an own goal. 1-1. James Howarth made a good save to keep the ball out as Ampthill threatened. Gary Ridgway just headed over from Adam Catagnetti's cross and Ben Hill nearly scored following a corner. In the 35th minute Ben Hill was sent off for a reckless high tackle on the tricky Cooksley. Bradwell defended well as halftime arrived.
Bradwell made a change at half time with Mike Ward replacing Adam Castagnetti, In the second half Bradwell nearly scored when shots from Danny Nicholl.s twice and Stephane Keomagna were blocked. Ampthill wasted a great chance to take the lead in the 58th minute With two players clear on goal James made a good save but really a good chance to score was wasted. Dom Masala went close in the 72nd minute and James Howarth saved brilliantly from close range conceding a corner. Five minutes later Stephane turned his man but his left foot shot went wide. Bradwell were holding their own with a man short and when Stephane chased a long ball towards the corner flag the Ampthill goalie came to intercept but Stephane Keomagni got in his shot which looped and curled towards the goal, crossing the line and spinning out. The linesman signalled a goal . 2-1. soon after an Ampthill player was sent of for abusing the linesmen. Bradwell wrapped it up when Stephane Keomagna was fouled in the penalty area after bursting clear. Being the last man the offending player was dismissed. From the resulting penalty kick, Dom Masala converted in the 85th minute.
3-1.Towards the end with Ampthill attacking Bradwell broke and from Stephane's pass Barry Bellhouse just coming on as a substitute over ran the ball.
Saturday 11th December 2011 - New Badwell St Peter 5 Bedford Town res 1
Both sides had an equally amount of chances in the first half with Peters' converting four of theirs' to the visitors nil. Bradwell lost Ashley Ferguson after nine minutes with a leg injury and Stephane Kemoagna came on to replace him. Bedford had chances from two free kicks and both Adam Castagnetti and Gary Ridgway had shots off target too. Then in the 20th minute, Dom Masala produced a great bit of individual skill to get into the area and fire home on 20 minutes. 1-0. Bedford shot wide soon after and from the goal kick, Dom fed Stephaine with a peach of a pass to convert from ten yards. 2-0. On 28 minutes Stephane had a great chance but shot wide when he might have scored. Then on 32 minutes Stephane received another great pass from Dom to score. 3-0. Bedford came back with two reasonable efforts but from a free kick Danny Nicholls got behind the defence to score in the 39th minute. 4-0. Both sides forced corners but the break came with Peters' 4-0 to the good.
With the job seemingly done Peters' went about their business but Bedford had one effort cleared by Matt Clinch who put in a tremendous tackle on his six yard line. Then James Howarth saved a shot in the 53rd minute. The Bedford goalie made a good save following a free kick in the 57th minute and then Stephane had two good chances cleared in successive minutes with Bedford wasting a chance following a corner in the 66th minute..The game was cut and thrust and Bedford missed an open goal. However, They reduced the score in the 81st minute when Nathan Aulsberry gave James no chance when their line were poorly cleared. 4-1. Peters' went down the other end and following a through ball, Chris Gunn lobbed the outcoming goalie in the 83rd minute. 5-1. The game ended with Peters' attacking but to no avail. No bookings for Bradwell in a game well refereed by Mr. L Walshe.
Tuesday 16th November 2010 - Bedford FC 1 New Bradwell St Peter 3
Bradwell travelled to nearby Bedford on a chilly night. Bradwell started the game brightly and immediately put the Bedford goal under pressure but could not find the killer touch, In the 10th minute Bradwell were made to pay when Bedford took the lead through Ricky Lawrence with their first decent attack. This seemed to spur Bradwell on and parity was restored in the 12th Minute when a Dom Marsala shot creeped in with the Bedford keeper and Defender getting in a tangle. Bradwell had their tails up and should have taken the lead after a good build up play Barry Bellhouse sidefooted wide. Jack Leadbetter then got on the end of a decent move but his header at goal almost went for a throw !!!!!!. Finally Bradwell took the lead in the 26th Minute when Gary Ridgway cut in from left before hittting a 25 yard shot into the top corner. This was a shock not for the fact the Gary scored but the fact it was with his Right foot which he only normally uses for standing on. More chances came and went then in the 36th Minute Barry Bellhouse got on the end of a cross from the left and headed down to the oncoming Jack Leadbetter who finsished a chance that even he would have failed to miss. So Half time came with Bradwell winning 3-1. To be honest the 2nd half was pretty much a non event with more chances coming and going but the scoreline never seemed in doubt and Peter's secured their first official away points of the season after the resignation of Sport London E Benfica means we will lose the 3 points gained there.
Team
Howarth, Lagioia, Patel, Leadbetter, Fletcher, J.Donaldson, Marsala, Ward, Bellhouse(Ferguson), Nicholls(Clinch), Ridgway( Gunn).
Saturday 13th November 2010 - New Bradwell St Peter 0 Kings Langley 2
Two good chances missed early on in the game proved costly for Bradwell as Kings Langley settled to run out winners. Danny Nicholls was baulked by his own player when nearly scoring with a header after 3 minutes. Then from Dom's pass Gary Ridgway centred for James Fletcher to head over. Kings Langley rode the storm and forced 5 corners in a 15 minute spell. After 30 minutes a good Bradwell attack saw Danny's shot fortunately saved by the beaten goalies out stretched foot. 0-0 at half time.
Kings Langley started the second half with a flourish and only a great save from James Howarth kept the score 0-1 in the 46th minute. Milan Stepjack gave Kings Langley the lead in the 51st minute finishing off a good move down the left. Dom Marsala had his shot blocked and after both sides counter attacked. Kings Langley added to their score through Lewis Toomey with a smart header in the 62nd minute. Dom had a chance blocked and Jack Leadbetter shot over the bar but Kings Langley nearly added a third goal at the end

Saturday 6th November 2010 - New Bradwell St Peter 1 Cockfosters 2
Both sides were slow to settle and cancelled each other out. Cockfosters then exerted pressure for the next 15 minutes and took the lead through Dan O'Connor giving James Howarth no chance to save in the 31st minute. 0-1. Bradwell went straight down the other end and Stephane Kemoagna was fouled in the penalty area in the 33rd minute area. Danny Nicholls blasted the ball in from the spot.1-1. The game petered to half time with both sides mustering two shots each. In the second half Cockfosters were denied a goal straight from the kick off with James blocking a one on one with a brilliant save. Little was seen from Bradwell unlike the visitors who seemed more determined and pegged Bradwell down. However Stephane and Danny had efforts blocked. In the 70th minute a left wing pass was not cleared and found Dave Pigden at the Far Post who put the visitors in front from close range. 1-2. Bradwell had the better of the last quarter as they pressed for an equaliser with efforts from Mike Ward and Sean Carr blocked. Cockfosters hit the bar and a scramble on the visitors line saw the goalkeeper make an important block. Ben Hill had a good game and Bradwell were attacking to the end.
Tuesday 02nd November 2010 - New Bradwell St Peter 1 Buckingham Athletic 0
In this local 'derby'SSML division One encounter, Buckingham had more chances in the first half than Bradwell, but Bradwell did hit the bar in the 25th minute through Stephane Kemoagna. James Howarth was strong in goal for Bradwell and had a good game as Bradwell defended well.
In the second half Bradwell attacked from the kick-off and pegged Buckingham back. The only goal of the game came when Stephane Kemoagna received a pass from Dom Marsala and lashed in a 25 yarder in the 53rd minute. Buckingham too had chances but towards the end Stephane Kemoagna headed wide when well placed and was a constant 'thorn in the defenders side'. Dom Marsala, too got through a lot of work. New signing Jimi Emefuna just failed to double the score at the end.
Mr Tom Ratheram had a solid game as referee
Saturday 30th October 2010 - New Bradwell St Peter 3 Finchampstead 1
In this Berks & Bucks Intermediate cup tie, Bradwell were quicker to the ball and Finchampstead conceded numerous free kicks for foul play trying to stop them. Stephane Kemoagna had an early shot well saved and then Stephane set up Adam Castagnetti in the 4th minute with a chance that was saved for a corner. After two Finchampstead efforts were dealt with, Adam Barnard gave Bradwell the lead with an 'own goal' shooting home impressively from 12 yards in the 15th minute. 1-0. Ashley Ferguson finished off a good passing movement in the 22nd minute accepting a good ball from Stephane. 2-0. Dom Marsala went close and Ben Donaldson had to be smart to keep out an away team effort. Just before halftime Massimo Lagioia and Ashley nearly added to the score.
In the second half Adam fed Stephane, who in beating man after man, centered for Adam to make it 3-0. From a long throw Adam Boyer, headed home to reduce the arrears 3-1 for the visitors. For the next 15 minutes Bradwell dominated without success with two efforts from Dom Marsala, Finchampstead then had a good 10 minute spell themselves and Ben produced two good saves. Shaun Carr was getting through a lot of good work and Stephane might have scored from Dom's pass when he dribbled through under pressure but lost the ball. Finchampstead came back into the game and James Fletcher headed out for a corner, from which the resultant corner ball hit the post. Both teams were then reduced to 10 minutes when after a drop ball he dismissed Barry Bellhouse and a Finchampstead defender, The referee played over eight minutes extra due to stoppages and slight knocks. The Draw has been made for the 3rd round and we entertain Padbury United on 27th November.
Tuesday 26th October 2010 - New Bradwell St Peter 1 Harpenden 2
In this division One league Cup second round encounter, St Peter found it hard to get the ball past the tall Harpenden defenders and the visitors caused an early scare which showed what was to come from their quick counter attacks. However, St Peter struck first blood in the tenth minute when Adam Castagnetti floated in a cross for James Fletcher to head home. 1-0. Hatfield came back and after one free kick was cleared Harpenden equalised when Matt Sutton punted a 35 yard free kick into the penalty area which eluded everyone. 1-1. Harpdenden then had a good spell forcing two quick corners. Adam Castagnetti was a threat down the left wing and skimmed the bar with one effort. Right on half time Sam Jay saved a close range shot.
In the second half both sides started off at a rate of knots and after hitting the St Peter bar, Harpenden took the lead, when Duan Bhasin, unfortunately diverted a ball into the box for an 'own goal' after 54 minutes. 1-2. Ashley Ferguson had a shot cleared off the line as St Peter fought back to get into the game. Sam made a good save , producing a Harpenden corner in the 72nd minute. St Peter had a good ten minute spell, with Ashley Ferguson and Joe Donadlson having efforts cleared. Harpenden stood firm to repel St Peter, and in the last minutes efforts from Massimo Lagioia and Gary Flinn cleared the bar. With virtually the last play of the game in the game 90+4minute, Danny Nicholls just failed to direct Adam Castagnetti's centre into the net with a header, to take the game into extra time
Saturday 23rd October 2010 - Ampthill Town 3 New Bradwell St Peter 0
A totally lacklustre performance from the Peter's saw them fall to another away defeat. Bradwell we outplayed and outfought in a pretty onw sided game. Bradwell started quickly but after a few good saves by the Ampthill custodian Bradwell just seemed to fade. The miserable day was compunded with Red cards for Adam Castagnetti & Stephane Kemoagna
Tuesday 19th October 2010 - Stotfold 4 New Bradwell St Peter 0
Bradwell bowed out of the Challenge Trophy at Premier Division opposition Stofold. Bradwell never really got going against a very good Stotfold team on a very wet and Windy evening
Saturday 16th October 2010 - New Bradwell St Peter 0 Crawley Green 1
On the day Crawley Green proved to be the better side. Their defence proved why they have only conceded 14 goals and dealt comfortably with any threat St Peter threw at them. St Peter chances were minimal and when they did attack faded out. Crawley Green were thwarted by Ben Donaldson on many occasions in the first half and St Peter never really had a shot at goal. In the second half St Peter had a penalty call turned down when Stephane Keomagi was fouled in the 50th minute, as did Crawley Green at the other end. This half was more even though and Duane Bhasin had a good game in defence along with his colleagues who defended well. However, the deadlock was broken when in the 70th minute, Henry Mungwira out paced defenders to shoot past Ben Donaldson. St Peter made three substitutions and pushed players forward in hope of grabbing an equaliser and Derek McDonald just failed on a half chance in the 80th minute. Crawley Green, too missed chances.
Saturday 09th October 2010 - New Bradwell St Peter 7 Sport London E Benfica 2
This was an exciting game with six goals scored in the final 15 minutes.
Benfica forced two early corners as both sides tested each others defences. Stephane Kemoagna made a chance for himself and unluckily hit the post in the 17th minute. A Benfica played ran 60 yards with the ball but shot straight at Ben Donaldson. Adam Castagnetti, back from suspension, took a free kick which James Fletcher headed home in the 27th minute. 1-0. Stephane Kemoagna was twice fouled, with yellow cards resulting. Ten minutes later Adam Castagnetti hit the bar from one of the free kicks. St Peter forced two more corners that came to nothing. Michael Ward, Matt Clinch and James Fletcher snuffed out Benficas' intended passes.
Straight from the second half restart Mihir Patel had his shot saved. The second goal was delightful, as in the build up, Adam stepped over a pass from Jack Leadbetter that allowed Stephane Kemoagna to fire in a cross which was turned into the net for an own goal by Peter Owen after 52 minutes, 2-0. Garry Ridgway had a cross saved and Benfica showed little up front. Stephane Kemoagna picked a loose ball and shot low from 25 yards for 3-0 in the 66th minute. More St Peter chances went begging when Matt Clinch burst through and passed to Stephane Kemoagna who shot wide when a pass to a colleague might have been a better option, Chris Gunn came on for Stephan Kemoagna after 70 minutes and twice skilfully put in two good crosses that were cleared. Benfica missed a reasonable chance and at the other end and it became 4-0 when Adam Castagnett's drive took a deflection in the 76th minute. After Barry Bellhouse's chance came and went, Danny Nicholls close range short brought a good save from the goalkeeper but Danny Nicholls fired in the rebound after 79 minutes,
5-0. From Adam Castagnetti's corner, James Fletcher rose to head in for 6-0. Benfica had a 87th minute penalty saved by Ben Donaldson, but slow marking allowed Martin Irungu to pull a goal back, 6-1. Ben Hill supplied Mihir Patel with a chance that was blocked and minutes later the Benfica goalkeeper appeared to carry the ball into his own goal. From the clearance Raduslaw Kaliton headed in a cross for Benfica in the 90+1, 6-2. A minute later Danny Nicholls completed the scoring when he converted Adam Castagnetti's pass, 7-2
Wednesday 06th October 2010 - AFC Dunstable 3 New Bradwell St Peter 1
As good as our performance was in the previous game this was a complete contrast, Peter's never really got into the game and could not stamp their authority in midfield with AFC constantly bypassing them by going route one football at every oppurtunity. For any neutrals watching this was a game certainly to forget.
Saturday 02nd October 2010 - New Bradwell St Peter 5 Hoddesdon Town 1
St Peters were up for it from the start against slow starting Hoddesdon and had most of the play with Ben being a spectator in goal. A chance fell to Barry Bellhouse from Danny Nicholls pass but the goalie made a smart save. Ben Hill had a free kick saved and shortly after Gary Ridgway set Barry Bellhouse up for another chance. In the sixteenth minute a fine passing movement between Stephane Kemoagna and Garry Ridgway saw Danny Nicholls score the opener. Stephane Kemoagna's speed was getting him past the defence and when he was fouled in the 16th minute, unceremoniously brought down by the goalkeeper, a penalty was awarded. On another day the keeper would have been sent off. Ironically he pushed Danny Nicholls penalty kick round the post. Hoddesdon rallied and for ten minutes had a good spell with Ben Donaldson twice punching clear. Gary Ridgway forced a corner which was cleared and in the 37th minute Stephane got fouled (good advantage played) and got up to centre for Barry Bellhouse to chest in from close range. Unfortunately in the 39th minute the Hoddesdon goalkeeper hurt his knee and had to be substituted . From a hurried clearance Gary Ridgway put in a 40 yard lob from the touchline which just cleared the crossbar. Close on halftime Hoddedon wasted a good chance when splitting the Peters defence.
Things were much the same in the second half with Massimo Lagiaia, Gary Ridgway and Stephane Kemoagna missing well worked chances. On 55 minutes Danny Nicholls made it 3-0 but Hoddesdon wouldn't lie down and came back to force two corners and in the 64th minute and won a penalty for hand ball. Gary Simmonds converted. Ben Hill had two shots cleared before Stephane Kemoagna scored a solo goal in the76th minute. A visiting player received a second yellow card and Peters pressed home their advantage. When following up a Danny Nicholl's shot the keeper pushed out, Stephane Kemoagna scored his second goal. With the game won Peters made three substitutions and at the death a Hoddesdon player was sent off for a second yellow card. All in all a good team display.
Tuesday 29th September 2010 - New Bradwel St Peter 2 St Ablans Reserves 2
St Albans fielded a mixed side of both youth and experience and had the better of the first half. Passing the ball around and keeping posession confidently. St Peter were restricted to long shots whilst St Albans might have scored when they missed from close in and then St Albans hit the post.
St Peter came more into the game in the second half and chances were missed at both ends. St Albans took the lead through Adam Martin in the 52nd minutes heading home a 'softly' conceded corner. Ben Donaldson made two good punched clearances from corners and following a St Peter corner James Fletcher headed in from Ben Hill's cross. St Peter took the lead two minutes later when Danny Nicholls scored from the penalty spot, given for a foul. St Albans came back and after two frantic cleared efforts Billy Jones equalised with a screamer in the top corner from 25 yards, giving Ben no chance.
Massimos long throw caused panic and when the ball came back off the bar a surprised Chris Gunn narrowly missed. Ben made a good save in the 87th minute and minutes later Martin Wells' shot was cleared off the line for a corner. Both sides continued to go for a winner and in 90+ 2 St Albans hit the bar from a free kick on the edge of the penalty area. St Peter too had a chance when Danny Nicholls headed a half chance over the bar at the death
Squad, Donaldson, Leadbetter, Lagioia, Ward, Bellhouse, Ridgway, Hill, Fletcher, Bhasin, Nicholls, Patel, Gunn, Wells
Saturday 25th September 2010 - New Bradwell St Peter 7 Bletchley Town 0
This turned out to an easy win for the Cup holders. Playing against the wind, Peters attacked from the start and spurned some good chances with the Bletchley goalie foiling Stephan Kemoagna on three occasions. After Gary Flinn saw his effort go wide, Jack Leadbetter opened the scoring in the 26th minute. Bletchley had a few long range shots but before Stephan K scored in the 44th minute for 2-0 St Peters just could not get the ball in the net. After Bletchley hit the bar in the 46+2 minute Peters wasted another good chance.
In the second half it was mainly all Peters and Bletchley's best play were when they 5-0 down. Stephan Kemoagna scored a minute hat-trick between the 51st and
69th minute and Barry Bellhouse missed a chance from Chris Gunn's dribble and cross in the box soon after. Gary Ridgway again got through a lot of outstanding work and deserved his goal in the 79th minute. Derek McDonald scored a penalty after he was fouled to complete the scoring five minutes from time.
Tuesday 21st September 2010 - New Bradwell St Peter 0 London Colney 3
Saturday 18th September 2010 - New Bradwell St Peter 3 Sun Postal Sports 3
This turned out a thrilling encounter and Peters' just shaded the last ten minutes of the match. Peters' had an early chance but no one got on the end of Gary Ridgway's cross. Stephane Kemoagna had a half chance and throughout the game he had little protection from the referee. After shooting wide Sun Sports scored in the 9th minute in a fortunate manner. A back pass led to a one on one with Fabian Forde and Anthony O. Niell in goal with the blocked ball being netted by the visitors. 0-1. Both sides had efforts blocked and after 20 minutes the speedy Jamie Arthur ran through to make it two nil. 0-2. The same player should have scored soon after but preferred to pass and the following play cleared. At the other end Gary Ridgway's shot cum centre was tipped over by the Sun goalkeeper. Ben Hill was prominent in attack and Danny Nicholls just shot over. Peters' were not getting the 'rub of the green' in the penalty area and after Anthony O'Niell saved to concede a corner, Sun Sports made it 3-0 when Jamie Arthur sprang the offside trap on the stroke of halftime. 0-3.
With the wind at their backs in the second half the first ten minutes saw Peters' attacking trying to get something out of the game and preserve their unbeaten home record, with Ben Hill & Jack Leadbetter going close. Jamie Arthur spurned a chance and minutes later in the 55th minute from Ben Hill's pass Jack Leadbetter scored. 1-3 . Four minutes later Stephane Kemoagna was set up by Dave Holloway to score a good goal putting Peters' right back in the game
2-3. Dave Holloway had his shot saved and Gary Ridgway's cross was cleared. Massimo Lagioia made some superb winning tackles and Peters' had to substitute Dave Holloway with Barry Bellhouse due to an unfair tackle which resulting in a Free kick to Peter's and a dislocated Kneecap for Holloway. Ben Hill shot just wide from the free kick. The last quarter saw both teams attacking and after 80 minutes Mike Ward came on for Chris Gunn who played his part. Soon after Stephain Kemoagna had a shot smuggled away for a goal kick! Gary Ridgway had a cracking shot just clear the bar and with one minute left on the clock Danny Nicholls swept in Ben Hill's cross for the equaliser. 3-3. Greg Tite came on at the end to push for a winning goal. James Fletcher and Matt Clinch both defended well in the second half recovery in which the referee played seven minutes added time

Tuesday 14th September 2010- New Bradwell St Peter 1 Cranfield United 0
By Nick Warton
Peters' attacked from the start and after pressure in the box Stephane Kemoagna netted from six yards in 90 seconds for the home side. The Cranfield keeper made two excellent saves to keep his team in it as Peters tried to press home their advantage. Cranfield were lively in attack and were awarded a penalty after 30 minutes, but Ben Donaldson made a diving save. Stephane was causing Cranfield problems with his speed and Peters' gained several free kicks for fouls on him. Gary Ridgway cleared a Cranfield chance off the line and Peters hit the framework after a great passing movement involving over a dozen passes across the pitch. Right on half time Danny Nicholls had a good chance but headed over. In the second half it was much the same, with both sides attacking leaving their defences to cope, with James Fletcher having an excellent game. Peters' just shaded the second half, but towards the end Cranfield had a reasonable claim for a penalty denied and seconds later Derrick Mcdonald had a goal wiped out for a marginal offside against him for Peters.

Saturday 11th September 2010 - New Bradwell St Peter 3 Wodson Park 2
Saturday 04th September 2010 - Kents Athletic 1 New Bradwell St Peter 3
The Peter's travelled to Division Two Kent Athletic on the first round of this season challenge trophy, These early rounds sometimes end up being a banana skin for some clubs but after a little scare we got through to the next round with a 3-1 win. The game itself was nothing exciting to write about. The first half was pretty one way traffic and despite constant pressure Bradwell could not make the breakthrough. The Kents Athletic keeper pulled off some brilliant saves to keep us at bay so half-time came with the game still goal-less. The 2nd half started off pretty much the same with bradwell in the ascendancy so it was a shock when following a free kick Kents Athletic took the lead with Darren Lynch heading past Ben Donaldson in the 48th Minute, surely we could not lose this game could we. Lucklicy Bradwell dusted themselves down and equalised 5 minutes later with Shaun Carr converting a cross at the far post. Bradwell continued to dominate but with the Kents keeper having a day to remember combined with spurned chances it looked like we coudl be heading for extra time. Thankfully Danny Nicholls found his shooting boots and scored two goals in the last 10 minutes to seal the win and set up a away tie against the winners of the London Lion V Stotfold Tie.

Saturday 28th August 2010 - Sun Postal Sports 3 New Bradwell St Peter 2
How Bradwell lost this game god only knows, Two dodgy penalty decisions one coming in the 96th Minute. I could really go into details but with these match reports being published in the public domain we are governed by South Midlands rules that we cannot say anything detrimental about officials etc so I will just say that a good performance by the Peter's went unrewarded. Goals came from Shaun Carr and Stepane Kemoagna but all to no avail.

Tuesday 24th August 2010 - Kings Langley 3 New Bradwell St Peter 1
Tuesday night saw us travel down to Kings Langley to try and record back to back wins. St Peter's started with the same starting eleven as Saturday as a reward for their win an Benfica Saturday. Bradwell started off in the ascendancy and put some early pressure on the Langley goal, The early pressure did not pay off and in the 13th minute Bradwell conceding a free kick just outside the box. The Langley player tapped the ball to Sam Warrell who shot at goal, I could not quite see if the ball went through the wall or under it but either way it crept in at the near post. Bradwell were not prepared to roll over and continued to push for the equaliser. Finally in the 26th minute we were back in it when the ball was won in the middle of the park and Mike Ward made a run down the right wing, He crossed into the box where it was Greg Tite against the a defender with Tite getting up upper hand as he directed his header past the Langley custodian to make it 1-1, The rest of the half was played out fairly evenly with both teams creating chances but unable to make the breakthrough so it was all square at half time. The 2nd half started again on the front foot with Tite and Barry Bellhouse unable to convert, As the half wore on King Langley started to get back into it. Disaster struck in the 65th minute when a free kick was played in the Peter's box, Ben Donaldson collected comfortably but Referee Campbell adjudged one of the King Langley players had been pulled back by Matt Clinch. So with a penalty awarded Langley skipper Lee Waryszniuk coolly slotted home to make it 2-1. Bradwell were still not prepared to give up and still continued to push for an equaliser. Chances came and went without the finishing touches being applied and several long throws from Massimo Lagioia caused panic in the home defence but the Peter's could not capitalise. Finally in the 84th minute it was game over when the Peter's defence switched off and Lewis Toomey converted a quick throw past Donaldson to make the final score 3-2. So yet again another defeat when we have not really played bad but if we do not take our chances when we get them we will be punished. Everyone at the club still has faith that will get out of this bad run and are doing their upmost to put thing right.

Saturday 21st August 2010 - Sport London E Benfica 2 New Bradwell St Peter 4
Bradwell finally secured their first three points of the season at the 5th appempt. Despite falling behind early in the game Bradwell soon found themselves 3-1 ahead mainly due to a Greg Tite Hatrick. Benfica pulled one back before Ashley Ferguson sealed the win with an individual goal his first in the Peter's colours
Wednesday 18th August 2010 - Bedford Town Reserves 6 New Bradwell St Peter 1
Saturday 14th August 2010 - Berkhamsted 3 New Bradwell St Peter 0
After two tricky away ties Bradwell travelled to Berkhamsted who many people have tipped to win the division this season. Gary Flinn had to make changes with Ben Hill, Adam Castagnetti and Matt Clinch away at a wedding meant that greg Tite, Ben Leadbetter and Gary Rdigway came in for their first starts of the season. Ben Donaldson replaced James Howarth in goal who had returned to Newport Pagnell Town after being on loan to cover Ben holiday. Berkhamsted won Division Two last season scoring a massive 121 goals last season and have strengthened in the summer determind to climb the non league ladder to where they once were. The games started fairly even with both teams failing to convert decent chances and both keepers pulled off some good saves to keep the game score-less. Finally in the 36th minute the deadlock was broken when a through ball found James Armstrong one on one with Ben in the Bradwell goal and he slotted home to put Berkhamsted 1-0 up, With more chances for both team the score remianed the same up until half time. The 2nd half started pretty much the same with both teams trying to score without success. Berko finally went 2-0 in the 52nd Minute when Laurence Bunker found himself unmarked in the box to flick onto the grateful Tony Burnett to volley home at the far post. 8 minutes later it was a case of deja vu when again bunker flicked on another corner for Burnett to head home and put the result beyound doubt. Bradwell made changes with Dave King, Ashley Ferguson & Stepahne Kemoagma replacing Gunn, Bellhouse and Ben Leadbetter but we could not make the breakthrough and the game ended 3.0. A very disappointing result with the players very downbeat. But is time to dust oursleves down ready for Wednesday when we travel to Bedford Town reserves looking to get some points on the board.

Tuesday 10th August 2010 - Harpenden Town 3 New Bradwell St Peter 2
Bradwell to Harpenden hoping to get their first points of the season on the board, Manager Gary Flinn made two changes with James Fletcher & Massimo Lagioia replacing Injured Rob Mooneya and Steve Dean who dropped to the bench. The Peter's started brightly putting the Harpenden goal under pressure from the start of the game so it was somewhat of a suprise when we failed to deal with a cross from our left and James Warner finished to put Harpenden 1.0 up. Bradwell continued to push and forced the Harpenden keeper into some good saves before Harpenden scored again in the 26th minute with Jordaine Blake slotting cooly past James Howarth in the Peter's goal. Despite this setback the Peter's continued to push forward but a succession of free-kicks in our favour seemed tobreak our rythmn. Barry Bellhouse and the Harpenden skipper got involved in a tussle with each other with the referee deeming both to be worthy of a yellow card, this was not to the liking of the Harpenden manager who was harshly banished from the ground. Finally in the 44th minute after another foul Ben Hill curled the resulting free-kick into the goal to give us a renewed hope going into the break. So 2-1 down at half time Bradwell were determind to get back on level terms when Shaun Carr run at the Harpenden defence before being taken out by the Harpenden's skipper was subsequently received a 2nd yellow card and was dismissed from the field. This gave Bradwell the chance to put Harpenden under constant pressure in search of an equaliser. Surely it would only be a matter of time but Harpenden had other ideas, even with a man short they put their bodies in front of everything and then in a complete shock to the way the game was going a long clearance from Harpenden bounced in our half with Matt Clinch underneath it there was no threat to goal but as he headed it back to James Howarth in the peter's goal a miscommunication between the pair resulted in the ball sailing over James Head leaving a straight race between James and the rapid Harpenden Striker. To be honest there was only going to be one winner and the Striker Aaron Clark slot the ball into an empty net despite Howarths best efforts. This left the Bradwell players stunned and it took a couple of minutes for them to settle and push again, still believing they could get a result Flinny threw on Tite, Holloway and Dean to help the bradwell cause but the Harpenden defence defended bravely and combined with the Peter's poor finishign we could not make the breakthrough. As the match drew to a close tackles started flying in and the yellow card started coming out in quick succession. with a couple of minutes remaining Harpenden were reduced in numbers again when a anothe rdefender recived his second caution of the match. As the game moved into Injury time James Fletcher managed to reduce the deficit with his first goal for the club, could there still be time ?. Unfortunately not as even though we created a few more chances we could not complete the comeback. So after two games without really playing badly we end up with 0 Points. Not being able to take advantage of the extra man for most of the 2nd half and the last couple of minutes with two extra was a killer. We are all to aware that we need to start taking our chanes when we are on top, Rest assured Gary and Ben will be working hard in the coming weeks to rectify this but Harpenden can come out with this game with their Heads held high as they showed a never seen before (against us) desire to get in the way of everything and showed a greeat team spirit to end up with all 3 points.

Saturday 07th August 2010 - Welwyn G.C 1 New Bradwell St Peter 0
St Peter's travelled away to Welwyn on the opening day of the season to face one of the teams relegated from the Premier division at the end of last season. Bradwell started with only 5 players who ended last season with the club with 4 players making their club debuts. Bradwell started brightly and were in control of the game without really creating any real clear cut chances. The best chance of the first half came just before the break when Shaun Carr played the ball across the goal for Barry Bellhouse who could not manage to keep control of his volley and it cleared the bar. The score remained 0.0 at half time. Welwyn made a change at half time bringing on Dan Hinds who was due to start the game but pulled out with injury ( I don't think he fancied the rain). Welwyn started creating more chances using pace as their main form of attack but a mixture of the welwyn forwards keeping hold of it for too long and a strong Peter's defence meant James " Bruce " Howarth did not have a notable save to make. Manager Gary Flinn made some changes to try and win the game with Anklebiter Titey replacing Barry Bellhouse up front and Gary Ridgway and Ben Leadbetter replacing Gunny and Steve Dean in midfield, Bradwell continued to push but could not apply the finishing touch. Bradwell then fell to the sucker punch with minutes remianing as Dan Hinds went on a mazy run before blasting the ball out of the reach of Bruce in goal to seal a 1.0 win for Welwyn. On another day Bradwell could of been out of sight by half time but unfortunatly left their shooting boots at home, so a disappointing result but a good performance giving Gary and Ben plenty to build on.
